Who you are contracting with

This site is operated by roehn ("roehn", "we", "us"), which is the seller of record for every product listed here. These terms govern your use of the site and any purchase of products from us. By using the site, confirming the age and research-use statements shown on entry and at checkout, or placing an order, you accept these terms.

Research use only, and who may buy

Everything roehn sells is supplied strictly for laboratory and research use. Our products are not drugs, dietary supplements, cosmetics, food, or veterinary products; they are not approved to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease; and they are not for human or animal consumption or administration by any route.

By placing an order you warrant that you are at least 21 years of age, that you are a qualified researcher or are acquiring the products on behalf of a laboratory, clinic, institution, or research programme, that the products will be used solely for lawful research, and that your intended use is lawful where you are. These warranties are a condition of sale. We may ask you to confirm research use or institutional affiliation before we fulfil an order for any compound, and we may decline to sell to anyone who does not.

How an order is formed

Placing an order at checkout creates an order record with us and issues you an order reference. That record is an enquiry, not a contract: it reserves nothing and obliges neither side. No sale exists until we confirm the order to you and the funds for it have cleared to us.

A listing on this site is an invitation to enquire, not an offer. No contract exists until we confirm your order in writing by email and the funds for it have cleared. Until that point we may refuse or cancel any order for any lawful reason, including stock, pricing error, a destination we cannot ship to, or doubt about the research-use warranties above. If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we return the full amount you sent.

Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars and exclude shipping and any tax or duty, which is your responsibility. Prices, specifications, and availability can change at any time before we confirm an order.

Card details are never collected on this storefront. Where card payment is offered, it is completed on our secure payment page and the card is handled there by the payment processor, not by us. Otherwise payment is made by a transfer you initiate yourself from your own account, using PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, Apple Cash, Revolut, or a third-party cryptocurrency checkout. You send the exact confirmed total and quote the order reference in the payment memo — that reference is how a transfer is matched to an order. Goods are dispatched only after the funds have cleared to us. A transfer sent without a matching reference, or for an amount other than the confirmed total, may delay dispatch until we can identify it.

No resale for human use

You may not resell, relabel, repackage, or transfer any product for human or animal consumption, nor represent it as a drug, supplement, or therapy, nor supply it to anyone you have reason to believe intends such use. You may not remove or alter the research-use labelling or the lot code on a vial. Breach of this clause terminates your right to buy from us and is a breach for which you indemnify us under the clause below.

Shipping, title, and risk of loss

Shipping services, rates, and handling are set out in our Shipping & Returns policy, which forms part of these terms. Title and risk of loss pass to you when we hand the shipment to the carrier. This does not remove the remedies we offer for a shipment that arrives damaged, incorrect, or not matching its published certificate — those are described in Shipping & Returns and we honour them regardless of when risk passed. You are responsible for storing and handling the material correctly on arrival.

Returns and refunds

Because these are controlled research materials whose integrity we cannot verify once they have left our custody, returns are not accepted after a shipment has been dispatched. There are two exceptions: a shipping error by us (wrong item, wrong quantity, or a vial that arrives damaged or temperature-compromised), and a vial that does not match the certificate of analysis published for its lot. In either case, contact us within 7 days of delivery as described in Shipping & Returns. No other returns, exchanges, or refunds are offered, and we cannot accept a return simply because you changed your mind or ordered the wrong compound.

What we warrant, and what we do not

We warrant that the material we ship is the compound described and comes from the lot identified on its vial. Where a lot has been assayed, the certificate published for it is the only representation we make about that lot's purity, identity, or endotoxin result, and it reports what the independent laboratory measured on the sample it received. Beyond that, products are supplied "as is" and we disclaim all other warranties to the fullest extent the law allows, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and suitability for any experiment, protocol, or application. We make no representation that any product is sterile, pharmaceutical grade, or fit for use in or on any human or animal.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, roehn is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, lost research time, damaged specimens, or the cost of repeating work, arising from the sale, use, misuse, storage, or handling of any product, however caused. Our total liability arising from any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Your indemnity

You will indemnify and hold roehn and its personnel harmless from any claim, loss, liability, penalty, or cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use, storage, transfer, resale, or disposal of a product, from any administration of a product to a human or animal, from your breach of these terms or of the research-use warranties, or from your failure to comply with a law that applies to you.

Export, destination, and legal limits

You are responsible for knowing and complying with the import, export, licensing, customs, and controlled-substance rules that apply to you and to your destination, and for any duty or tax raised on a shipment. We do not offer these products where their sale or possession is prohibited, and we may decline any order or destination at our discretion. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell where such an offer would be unlawful.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of any order, are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located in San Diego County, California shall have exclusive jurisdiction. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page with a new revision date. The version in force when we confirm your order is the version that governs that order; changes are not retroactive. Continued use of the site after a revision means you accept the revised terms.

Status of this document

These Terms constitute the current Terms and Conditions governing use of the ROEHN website and purchases made through the site. By accessing the site or placing an order, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms.
